Georgian product and design studio, Around The Studio, introduces the Wool Diaries Collection – a furniture series that blends various materials with felt fabric to create the most luxurious textures in the quirkiest designs. The studio believes in the essence of creating products using local and traditional felting techniques. The technique mainly belongs to the Georgian artisans. Ano Jishkariani and Tika Shilia, the founders of the studio, are the brains behind the vibrant furniture collection.

The felting process has been the most prevalent in the Khaketi and Tusheti regions of the country. After learning about the process and importance felt-making technique holds for the people of the region, the designers infused the Wool Diaries furniture collection with similar knowledge and sentiments.

The designers worked together to create the most authentic and ergonomic Wool Diaries collection. They ensured the process and product were integrated with futuristic ideas while remaining true to the Georgian felting method and commemorating an ancient technique of felting.

First in the collection is the Sword Armchair. The chair has been crafted using the same method and stands on an aluminum base acting as armrests, too. It has a unique design with aluminum piercing through the fabric, giving it an impression of being impaled on a sword.

Second in the collection is the Resting Table. The aluminum structure integrates a cube-shaped, felt-fabric sofa in the corner. Interestingly, it looks like it is resting there in the corner, just like you would do after a long day. The Resting Table is a versatile piece of furniture and can be used for placing numerous things like books, flower pots, and other decorative items. It can also become a coffee table as well.

Third in the Wool Diaries collection is the Sheep Chair. It is draped in a beautiful green color felt fabric. The soothing color invokes the feeling of being in nature, like a sheep grazing in the green pasture. The chair has low armrests, a wide seat, and a heightened backrest to ensure the right posture.

Warrior Armchair Old Oak is another piece of furniture in the series. The blend of light and dark-colored felt fabric has a vibrant appeal. The chair has a wide seating area, enough to sit with your legs curled up. There are armrests for the support and the base of the chair is made of old oak wood. The eclectic furniture collection celebrates the Georgian felt-making culture in modern designs.
