Wyze Labs, the Seattle based company quite popular for its inexpensive smart home cameras, has newly unveiled the Wyze Lock made in partnership with smart lock manufacturer Lockin.

Priced at $90, it will be one of the most budget-friendly smart home locks when available to customers in February 2020. Another exciting feature is that it is designed to work with most single-cylinder deadbolts, check out the compatibility guide.

Powered by four AA batteries, it uses Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Zigbee for connectivity. In February 2020, it will also be compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. Wyze Lock comes with a Zigbee hub that connects Wyze Lock to Wi-Fi network. Simply plug it into an outlet, pair with Wyze Lock and you are ready to go.

There are built-in sensors to keep a check of the position of the door so you don’t need to worry about leaving your door opened.  Most importantly, it can automatically lock and unlock the door as you come near with the help of your phone’s location and Bluetooth connectivity. This feature will also let you unlock your door when there is no Wi-Fi at your home. Want more locking options – a weatherproof, wireless, backlit keypad can be bought separately.

The access to open the lock can be granted to about 50 users using the companion mobile app. There is also an alarm feature to get a sound notification if you left the door open. Furthermore, Wyze Lock provides lock history, indeed a practical feature for working mothers who want to know when their children returned back to home.
