Consumer electronics giant Samsung has recently introduced The Frame TV that can be displayed as a picture frame on the walls of your home. Developed in collaboration with renowned Swiss industrial designer Yves Béhar (Founder Fuseproject), it can transform from a television into a work of art when turned off. It is available in two sizes – the 65-inch model costs US$2,799, and the 55-inch model is priced at $1,999.

There are options to customize frame color and material as per personal preferences. Using the Art Mode feature, you can use the TV’s screen to display exclusive artworks ranging from paintings to images from your personal collection. So when you are watching TV, it offers 4K UHD picture quality for optimal enjoyment and when idle, it becomes a customizable work of art.

The Frame TV uses an ambient light sensor to adjust color and brightness settings according to the room while built-in motion sensor detects people’s movement to display images every time a person comes in its proximity, and when there is no one in the room, the screen goes blank to save power.

Samsung is providing its No Gap Wall Mount with purchase of The Frame, so you don’t need to buy any additional accessory to hang it on walls. However, you can also use Samsung’s recently-unveiled QLED TV accessories such as Invisible Connection, if you want to install it without disturbing the existing decoration of your home.

Customers also get access to a library of more than 100 exclusive works of art by renowned global artists curated by Samsung. With such a huge array of paintings, prints, photos, and frames, the Frame TV goes beyond entertainment and becomes a high-tech accessory to express your vision through images.

After its announcement at CES 2017 and global launch in Paris, The Frame TV has since been exhibited in various design fairs including Milan Furniture Fair 2017, Casa Decor 2017 and Albertina museum in Vienna.
