Drawing inspiration for his new furniture from kindergarten textbooks, Dubai-based designer Omar Idriss has come up with Schweben hanging chairs in triangle, square and circular shapes.

People today want furniture to be an integral element of their space, thus shapes are being decided thoughtfully. This is exactly why modern furniture is taking amazing shapes, while many are inspired by vintage styles, others are exclusive.

With the stimulus of Bauhaus movement’s basic elements and colors, Omar has designed three simple hanging seats that will make a beautiful impact in home decor.

Available in square, circle and triangle shapes, in choice of blue, red, yellow and white colors, the Schweben hanging chair also comprises a model clad in oak veneer for those who desire a complete wooden look.

Each seat is made chiefly of wood with an inner metal bar to maintain shape and ensure safety.

It hangs to a ceiling by a 10 mm metal rope with an embedded bearing ring to ensure seamless rolling motion so that the rope doesn’t twist.
