British Columbia-based Rover Tiny Homes recently unveiled the Apex tiny house, a 492-square-foot dwelling that deals with the usual tiny house compromises and offers full-size appliances and finishes you’d expect in a regular house. We’ve covered a fair share of dwellings coming out of the Rover Tiny Homes foundry, and having taken a good look at this one, we can confidently say it’s the most beautiful of the bunch.
Before we get into the exterior and interior, let’s address the elephant in the room. Rover Tiny Homes hasn’t disclosed the exact length and width of the dwelling, but given the 492 square feet of interior space, we’d estimate it runs well above 40 feet long and around 13 feet wide. That said, the dimensions aren’t what make this tiny home worth talking about. It’s the elegant exterior and fancy interior that do.
To begin with, the Apex tiny house features black vertical wood siding on the upper walls, rich brown cedar shingles wrapping the lower half, and a copper-toned standing seam metal roof tying it all together. The standout feature is a gabled projection at one end of the house, where two oversized windows climb toward the roofline. Black-framed windows and glass doors continue around the rest of the exterior, pulling in plenty of natural light and keeping the indoor-outdoor connection that tiny home buyers tend to look for.
If the exterior isn’t enough to win you over, the interior has even more going for it. The Apex tiny house boasts light pine paneling that keeps the walls bright, while dark exposed ceiling beams add contrast and lean into the lodge-style aesthetic. Not to mention luxury vinyl plank flooring and integrated LED lighting, each adding aesthetics to the dwelling.
As highlighted by autoevolution, the layout includes a gourmet kitchen, a cozy living room, a generous bedroom, and a modern bathroom, making it a solid fit for families with kids.
Beyond the basic layout, the tiny house also features a dedicated laundry area, a mudroom, ample storage, and full-size appliances throughout. We’ll get to each of them in detail below. The living room is furnished with a sofa, armchairs, and a coffee table. Rover Tiny Homes notes that while the standard Apex ships with a full fireplace wall, custom mantel, and built-in shelves, buyers also have the option to swap it for a propane faux wood stove that still brings cabin-style warmth to the space.
Adjacent lies the kitchen. It boasts a U-shaped layout with a peninsula that doubles as a breakfast bar, giving plenty of room to cook. The kitchen includes sage green shaker cabinetry that pairs with white quartz counters, gold hardware, a matching gooseneck faucet, and dome pendant lighting for a finished, elevated look. On the appliance front, the kitchen comes loaded with a four-burner range and oven, a combo range hood and microwave, an apartment-size fridge with freezer, and a deep sink. Other features include an array of cabinets to store kitchen essentials.
Past the kitchen, a hallway leads toward the bathroom, bedroom, and mudroom. The mudroom has its own separate entrance. It’s not the first time we’ve seen a mudroom in a tiny house, but this one is considerably bigger than most, with room to store boots, outerwear, and sports equipment while keeping mud, dust, and wet gear out of the main living space.

Next up is the bathroom, which features a bathtub, toilet, and vanity. There’s also a separate laundry nook with space for a washer and dryer, alongside open shelving. The entire home is insulated with R24 in the walls, R28 in the ceiling, and R28 to R31 in the floors. The tiny house draws power via a standard RV-style hookup. Like the rest of the Rover Tiny Homes lineup, the Apex tiny house can be customized to the buyer’s needs. Rover Tiny Homes has priced the Apex tiny house at $212,400 CAD (approximately US $150,000).
