Power banks are among the most popular portable electronic devices these days. Belkin, the leading player in this segment, is taking a different approach by integrating multifunctional elements into its latest power device. Case in point, the BoostCharge Pro Power Bank 10K, which doubles as a portable light and can be used in different scenarios at home or outdoors.
In the initial reveal pictures, you can see the gadget serving as a nightlight, sitting alongside the bed. This simply means Belkin is presenting it more as a household accessory, which seems quite contradictory when compared to its original function. Firstly, it needs to be a power bank, and it does that with a 10,000 mAh power capacity. As a secondary feature, the light pops out from its top when needed and can be easily slotted back into a backpack or pocket.
Being a portable power bank, its main use is to feed your electronic devices on the go, but Belkin wants you to explore the other functions more often than not. When you turn on the light, it is obvious that the battery will deplete, but that’s the same for all such gadgets. One practical use-case scenario is for camping trips, when you can utilize it as a mini light to brighten up your space at night. The light becomes even more useful with a built-in motion sensor mode and an SOS mode that keeps flashing.
Charging the power bank is done courtesy of the built-in braided USB-C cable that folds into the side of the case. This will be highly useful since you don’t need to carry a separate USB cable every time. There are two onboard ports, including the above-mentioned built-in cable to charge two devices simultaneously. It outputs 45W of power, and if you’re charging two devices, the primary device gets 30W, and the other is limited to 15W, notes TechRadar.

The BoostCharge Pro Power Bank 10K has a small circular display to show the remaining battery percentage as well as controls for the LED light modes, but this is also going to affect the overall charging potential. There is also a small lanyard at the top so you can hang it on your bag using a carabiner.
Measuring 118 x 60 x 32mm (4.6 x 2.3 x 1.2 inches) and weighing 257g, the portable gadget will not add much volume to your luggage. You can even carry it daily, but the only odd thing will be the pop-up light, which will not be useful in regular usage. For some scenarios, like taking video calls, photography, and camping, the accessory is a real deal. It is available only in China for now, with a price of 329 yuan (roughly $50). You can expect it to arrive in the global market in the near future.
