Colorado Teardrops has exceeded $8 million in annual sales of its classic teardrop lineup and is well en route to breaching the $10 million mark. I am optimistic about the Denver-based company’s future, more so after the release of the Boulder teardrop trailer that not only tows an EV but also recharges its batteries. With that said, the Boulder teardrop trailer can negate a drop in an EV’s driving range and may just help alleviate it instead.

“The Boulder recharges EV’s batteries and returns your electric vehicle to its pre-towing range,” the company notes.

Boasting an aircraft-grade aluminum body, the trailer hides a bank of actively cooled EV batteries within its chassis. The Boulder packs enough battery to significantly charge your Tesla. Equipped with its very own 75kWh Lithium-ion battery pack and a built-in DC fast charger, the trailer extends your driving range and allows you to venture off the grid.

The company states that its trailer is inspired by Colorado’s terrain and ever-changing weather conditions, so if your Tesla accidentally runs out of power, your teardrop trailer may come to your rescue.

The 12 feet long teardrop trailer features a fully insulated cabin that can accommodate up to four people. The seating arrangement converts into a 60 x 78 inches queen bed, while two bunk beds facing each other make it ideal for two adults and two kids.

Not to mention, the trailer also has plenty of storage for essentials and gear. The cabin attracts plenty of lighting courtesy of its large windows and gull-wing doors. The galley of the trailer functions as an outdoor kitchen and has enough room for coolers, water, a stove, and storage for food.

The Boulder is customizable and we learn that Colorado Teardrops is eying similar trailers in 17-foot and 27-foot sizes in the near future. Those interested can check out the trailer on the official website. The company is currently taking orders for the Boulder starting at $67,000.
