Bowlus is synonymous with excellence. It makes some of the finest RVs for off-grid adventures. The California-based luxury travel trailer manufacturer has made campers in the past that were robust and exquisite. The only downside of these models was their exorbitant price, which made them accessible only to the uber-rich.

With Bowlus’ Ultra-Luxury Volterra and Terra Firma costing worth a king’s ransom, the American luxury travel trailer brand wanted to break the notion and offer something to the ‘not-so-elite.’ Enters, Heritage Edition travel trailer. It is the company’s lightest and cheapest full-size travel trailer to date and is inspired by the original 1934 model, the Streamline Moderne.

The $159,000 Heritage Edition travel trailer does not compromise on luxury and offers all the amenities of the full-size trailer. With a model that’s almost half in price compared to the company’s previous trailers, Bowlus is clearly targeting a certain section of adventurers who are not comfortable spending $300,000 for an RV but can manage to shell out half of that for a luxury experience.

However, it’s not just the price that is the major talking point of Heritage. The latest Bowlus trailer boasts a lightweight design, thanks to aircraft-grade aluminum that is used to create its body.

Geneva Long, Founder and CEO of Bowlus states, “The Heritage Edition maintains the ultra-high quality of all Bowlus models, but with the enhanced flexibility of a more streamlined starting point. This offering will give aspiring Bowlus owners who prefer a scalable assortment of premium options, such as extra battery power, the ability to own a Bowlus that better suits their vision of luxury land travel.”

With a gross weight of 3,500 lbs, Heritage is light enough to be towed by any SUV. In fact, it is so lightweight that it can even be hauled by an EV too. Measuring 27 feet in length, a size similar to any European tiny house, the travel trailer is incredibly expansive and accommodates four people with ease.

Unlike the traditional polished aluminum finish, the company now offers a satin-silver finish exterior (first introduced in the ‘30s models). Customizable with Matte Black and Satin Gray finish, Bowlus’ interior is made of aluminum, stainless steel, and Birchwood. The satin finish on the outside of the trailer is obviously a beauty to behold but the aerodynamic bullet-shaped silhouette is what makes the trailer an absolute smasher.

Wrapped inside an aluminum Monocoque exterior skin are a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and main cabin that can be divided into separate spaces. The Heritage floor plan is no different from the company’s other models and hallmarks Bowlus’ signature hotel style en-suite style. The bedroom and the bathroom are located in the rear of the trailer while the kitchen is placed right-up front, with the living room separating the two spaces. The living room features a dining area with a sofa that converts into a twin bed.

The company mentions that the ‘Heritage Edition comes with a 2 kWh battery which provides powerful off-grid electricity for clients interested in week-long getaways to far-flung destinations.’ However, it can be leveled up to 6 kWh. There are some other customizable add-ons available with the likes of a cell booster, a 5G router, and Starlink-ready internet.
