As fall festivities approach, we start decorating the homes with easy and inexpensive crafts. Yarn pumpkin garland is inexpensive and easy to create: Make orange yarn balls and hang them over a green yarn. We however have tried a little twist to the otherwise simple craft. Using amateur-level crochet skills we made the pumpkin vine to string the yarn pumpkins. Even though, for us the result isn’t the finest, we had fun making this DIY yarn pumpkin garland. If you have a slightly better hand at crocheting, you should manage to pull this off much better:

Materials Used:

  • Orange yarn
  • Green yarn
  • Crochet (optional)

DIY Yarn Pumpkin Garland Tutorial

  • Make a small skein of orange yarn around the fingers of a hand
  • Remove the skein from your hand and tie it at the middle, while giving it a fluff to shape into a ball mimicking a pumpkin
  • Create as many pumpkins – this way – as you need
  • You can hang these pumpkin balls on a jute twine or get a little creative and crochet a vine
  • Take green yarn and begin with a simple single crochet chain, make leaves if you can, and tie the pumpkin balls on the vine
  • Your yarn pumpkin garland is ready to adorn your home during the festive season this fall
