I’ve never liked sleep wearable devices. For the simple reasons that I don’t appreciate the idea of a device in my ear, a ring that feels obtrusive, or a watch constantly beeping alerts while I sleep. These devices are not just intrusive; they tend to be uncomfortable and exorbitantly expensive. While comfort depends on the design, material, fit, and your own sensitivity, the reality is that these gadgets are still often awkward and way too expensive. That’s where the Dreamie Sleep Assistant from Ambient – released at CES – comes into the frame.

Originally launched via a Kickstarter campaign in October 2025, the phone-free bedside sleep assistant made its much-anticipated debut at CES 2026 this past week. With early backers on board, Dreamie is getting noticed for its calm and focused design, which helps break the late-night doomscrolling habit. Priced at $269, this phone-free sleep assistant offers a different path to better rest.

A phone-free experience is just the starting point. The real goal is to replace the phone’s role next to the bed with something people actually want to use at night, a completely sleep-centered device with one-touch routines, tactile physical controls, and soothing light and sound, so we can spend less time scrolling and more time sleeping. – Ambient co-founder, Adrian Canoso.

When it comes to the form factor, Dreamie is a compact hub designed to sit unobtrusively on your nightstand. It offers functionalities of an alarm clock, sound machine, and sleep analyst. The device features a flicker-free touchscreen, which dims to an almost imperceptible glow to avoid jolting you awake with harsh light. At bedtime, it shifts the time display to a soothing red, sidestepping the blue light, which keeps melatonin at bay.

Encircling the screen is an RGB light strip that bathes your space in customizable colors, gradually fading to black like a digital sunset to signal your brain it’s time to unplug. As pointed out by Notebook Check, the area surrounding the display functions as a volume control dial, while swiping across the top lets you adjust the lighting brightness. T3 explains this subtly, stating that the device monitors sound patterns along with light, temperature, and humidity to determine whether your environment is supporting or disrupting your rest.

In addition to basic features, the Dreamie also offers Bluetooth connectivity that lets you stream podcasts or lullabies straight to your headphones. Dreamie also lets you set different alarm times for every day of the week, which is perfect for those whose sleeping patterns vary between workdays and weekends.
