American cake artist Natalie Sideserf brings a whole new level of realism into the world of hyper-realistic cakes. She has rocked the internet with her incredibly realistic cake of Mike Ehrmantraut from Breaking Bad. The life-like cake is showing Mike’s sweeter side that you’ve not seen before.
The cake is so realistic that it doesn’t even look edible. In fact, in one picture it seems that Natalie is actually standing next to Mike, but a cut in a small portion of the cake takes the illusion away while revealing layers of the cake.
How is the cake made?
Natalie, the owner of Sideserf Cake Studio, explains that the tasty treat is made of layers of vanilla cake and Swiss buttercream. After layering and carving the sculpture, the entire cake is then covered with a layer of chocolate ganache. The final layer of modeling chocolate has been sculpted beautifully with fine detailing.
