It is very rare that color is the talking point of a tiny house. People usually focus on the storage options a small housing offers or the luxurious interior it boasts. Extea Cabera tiny house by Modern Tiny Living (MTL), however, challenges this notion with its bold blue interior with contrasting gray accents, the major highlight of the compact dwelling. MTL built the tiny home for a Basque couple and it is a customized version of MTL’s ‘Point’ model.

Measuring 20 feet long, the tiny house comes finished in LP vertical smart siding with cedar accenting and has a durable black steel roof. Offering a stark contrast to the gray exterior, the half-wood half-glass blue front door allows sunlight to pass in. The interior is dotted with gray and blue furnishings, drawing the eye.

On the right end of the door is the living room, featuring a U-Shaped sofa that can be turned into a bed and a single bookcase for storage. The sofa base is painted blue which is also the color of the door and single bookcase.

Adjacent to the door is the cabinet area of the kitchen which can be utilized as an eating space. Clad in blue, the kitchen cabinetry can be used for the storage of cookware. Above the cabinetry lie floating shelves to house nitty-gritty items. The kitchen countertop features a butcher block which provides durability and maintains a smooth sanitary surface. It has a white farmhouse apron sink alongside a number of appliances ranging from a stainless two-burner induction cooktop and a convection oven. Other appliances include a full-sized stainless steel refrigerator/freezer combo.

A sliding barn door leads to the bathroom featuring a toilet, sink, and shower. Not to mention a washer/dryer combo unit that fits under the blue staircase leading to the loft area.

The loft functions as a typical tiny house bedroom. Accessed by open storage stairs, the loft area features a king-sized bed. There is another bookcase in the loft section that conceals the view of the ground floor. Overall, the tiny house bathing in blue and gray looks stunning and offers decent storage to the user.
