Virginia-based custom home builder Tiny House Building Company has become one of my favorite micro-dwelling makers in the US and for a good reason. The company has been building gorgeous compact houses for a vast clientele and each tiny house brings something new to the table. From the sectional Mulberry tiny house to the elevated living room in Inglewood, no two abodes by the builder have the same layout or features. The same can be said about the Getaway tiny house on wheels.

Measuring 32 feet long, the Getaway tiny house is unique inside out. The gray exterior of the micro-dwelling has scallop siding, a custom awning on the entry door, and a storage built-on hitch. The retro pink front glass door opens into the spacious living room. It has a built-in bench with storage and can be switched to a convertible couch. Facing the bench are two storage-integrated staircases leading to the king-size loft bedrooms.

Flanking the living room are two other important spaces, the bathroom and the kitchen. Dotted with a pink palette, the kitchen of the Getaway tiny house is set in a U-shaped layout and features modern appliances with a retro charm.

The kitchen has a three-burner electric cooktop, a microwave oven, a retro pink refrigerator from Big Chill, a custom tiled backsplash, a sink, marble countertops, open shelving, and pantry closet, and under-counter cabinets for storage. On the other end, a complete bathroom is installed behind a pocket door. It has a closet space, a vanity sink, a shower stall, a toilet, and a washer/dryer unit.

Outside, a custom chandelier hangs above the living room. A wall-mounted television is installed high above the staircases. The staircases provide ample storage space to display books, accessories, and other knick-knacks. The loft bedrooms have plenty of room for a king-size mattress, a couple of nightstands, and a television each.

Priced at $90,000, the Getaway tiny house is a charming dwelling with retro touches here and there. It can be a perfect residence for a small family.
