As August approaches, Gilmore Girls fans get ready for rewatching the iconic show that has the best one-liners in television history, delivered by our beloved Lorelai Gilmore. Alas! There is still time for the pumpkin season, and before we visit the fictional town of Stars Hollow, fans have a chance to own a slice of the show’s history. The original real-life Gilmore Girls house has hit the market for the first time in 24 years and can be yours for CAD 3.88 million (roughly $2.7 million).
The house is a 19th-century gem, built around 1875. Last sold in 2002, the home is back on the market again. The 2,840-square-foot property is located in Unionville, a neighborhood in Markham, Ontario. The house appeared as Lorelai and Rory Gilmore’s home in the pilot episode of your favourite show.
Unfortunately, it is not really in Star Hollow, but the neighborhood has many pilot filming spots, as reported by Elle Decor. The other filming locations from the pilot episode include the storefront that stood in for Luke’s Diner, the Markham Train Station, which served as the exterior of Miss Patty’s dance studio, and the red brick church.
The four-bed and four-bath house includes two staircases, three fireplaces, exposed wood beams, and a wet bar. It is the perfect home for a fan who is looking to put down roots and has major cash to burn, unlike Lorelai.
The kitchen has a centralized island with barstool seating and direct access to an exterior deck, and the primary bedroom comes with a fireplace, a giant bathroom with a tub, and its own private walkout. The aesthetic is quite 2000s-inspired and would make a perfect family home.

There is a detached 550-square-foot building on the lot, which operated as the town’s bakery until 1984. Today, it has heating, air conditioning, electricity, and internet access. It can function as a studio, office, or guest space. A nearby ravine and river add to the home’s soothing locality.
The Gilmore Girls house is currently listed for CAD$3.88 million through Sylvia Morris of Century 21 Leading Edge Realty Inc. It is the perfect opportunity for a hard-core fan to begin their homeownership journey.
