Displace TV was making a lot of noise at CES 2023 with its wireless OLED version that sticks to any surface but people were inquisitive about what LG had in store for them. The South Korean tech giant didn’t disappoint and unveiled a 97-inch wireless TV that eliminates the need for HDMI cables. The idea of a 4K TV that receives all of its video and audio signals wirelessly sounds awesome, as LG claims to make your living room clutter-free.

The reason I bring CES to the discussion is primarily owing to LG’s recent announcement. The company has officially released the world’s first wireless OLED TV and it comes with a price tag to match. Costing $35,000 LG’s M3 is a mammoth 97-inch television that receives its audio and video from LG’s Zero Connect box.

Placed at a 30-foot range, users can set up their home theater equipment like a cable TV set-top box on one side of a room, with the TV mounted elsewhere. The Zero Connect box offers real-time video and audio transmission at up to 4K 120Hz.

It isn’t a fully wireless television when compared with Displace’s version because the makers still didn’t find a solution to take the power cord out of the equation. Nevertheless, the television boasts a sleek design and offers awesome picture quality and fantastic sound.

While LG didn’t share many technical details about M3, PCMag reports that the television does not use the Wi-Fi 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands used in most consumer technology today. It rather relies on a proprietary standard, which LG claims offers three times the speed of Wi-Fi 6.

In addition to beaming audio and video signals wirelessly, the voice control-enabled Zero Connect box also has several ports, implying one can easily connect video game consoles, soundbars, or cable boxes.

LG has also dropped the price for its 83 inches and 77 inches models. The 83-inch OLED Evo M will cost approx. $10,000 while the 77-inch version will come in at $7,500. As per the rumors, the television is expected to hit the US market later this month.

Note: Reflected price is subject to the current exchange rates.
