These days we have various choices for OLED TVs, and keeping up the pace, LG Display Co. Ltd (the leading innovator of display technologies) revealed the world’s biggest OLED display with 8K resolution yesterday. It offers the highest resolution with a total 33 million pixels (7680×4320), which is sixteen times more than FHD (1920×1080) and four times higher than UHD (3840×2160). This 88-inch 8K OLED display will be exhibited at LG Display’s booth during CES 2018.

Higher resolution is the most intriguing feature of OLED TVs, and LG Display has achieved it by reducing the size of each pixel, allowing aperture ratio to unavoidably reduce brightness. LG’s in-house designers have developed this high resolution OLED display without engaging any brightness issues. Due to self- emission characteristics of OLEDs, they are less affected by aperture ratio, and therefore are optimal for 8K displays.

Unlike LCD panels, this 8K OLED display doesn’t needs backlight units which help to improve visual experience, lower energy consumption and maintain the slimmer design as well. This OLED display with 33 million, self-emissive OLED pixels offers optimal brightness and superior picture quality to enhance the overall TV-viewing experience.

With the development of this 88-inch 8K OLED display, LG is trying to set up a new paramount in the TV industry.
