I don’t care what anyone says, Angelina Jolie nailed the role of Maleficent in the titular live-action reiterating of Disney’s 1959 animated film Sleeping Beauty. Jolie played the powerful fairy and protector of the Moors, who after being betrayed in love by Stefan – who later becomes the king of the human kingdom – becomes dark and bitter. Learning about Stefan’s newborn daughter, Aurora, she puts a curse on the infant but soon begins to care for the princess and comes to be her godmother.

Those who have watched the movie, absolutely adore the characters and those who portrayed them. Given that Mistress of Evil is a force to be reckoned with and has a malevolent side, I decided to create a Maleficent Halloween wreath for the festive season. This DIY Maleficent Halloween wreath is an easy holiday craft and takes only 30 minutes.

Materials Required:

  • Foam wreath base (spray painted black)
  • Black cloth
  • Glitter foam paper
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue
  • Colored ribbon

How to Make a Maleficent Halloween Wreath

  • Glue the black cloth on half of your wreath base
  • Drape it with a ribbon in a festive pattern
  • Cut horns for Maleficent from black glitter paper
  • To make her pet crow, Diaval, draw a bird shape on black glitter paper. Then make a long beak from golden glitter paper, and an eye from black, silver, and purple glitter paper
  • Glue long sticks behind the horns to help them stay upright
  • It’s time to glue the crow and horns to the wreath
  • Make sure the black cloth is facing downward, then stick the horns on top
  • Now glue the crow on one side and your Maleficent Halloween wreath is complete
