Modern Tiny Living has gained a noble reputation over the years that has made it synonymous with excellence. Taking custom-made dwellings to a new level, the leading tiny house builder in the US has achieved the feat after designing a number of robustly built tiny houses with gorgeous layouts. Dubbed The Moth, their latest creation is a 24-ft fully custom tiny home on wheels. The Ohio-based builders made the tiny house for a non-profit storytelling group, ‘The Moth,’ to do roadshows.

For those who don’t know, the group was founded 25 years ago by poet and novelist George Dawes Green. The novelist alongside his friends used to gather and tell each other stories on their friend Wanda’s porch in Georgia. The screen around Wanda’s porch had an opening that allowed moths to enter inside as they were drawn by the brightness, ultimately getting trapped in the light. Inspired by this, Green and his friends decided to call themselves the Moths, thus deriving the name of the tiny home.

Boasting a traditional tiny house layout, The Moth is bathed in natural light. Featuring a large bi-fold outswing door and a multitude of windows, the tiny house opens up to let the air and natural light inside. Not to mention the three skylights that allow even more light to permeate inside the small dwelling.

Additionally, the tiny home also features a pull-out deck that extends the overall living space. Moth features a living room that has a porch swing and two chairs with a huge pendant light suspended from the ceiling. Designed as a mobile studio for the storytelling group to travel across the US, Moth also has a breakfast bar with space for two people to wine and dine, and work simultaneously.

Next to the living space is a small kitchen, which includes a sink, a refrigerator, a generous countertop, and several cabinets for storage. There is also a bathroom with a custom sliding barn door. Unfortunately, the bathroom isn’t equipped with a shower but does include a toilet, sink, and two floating shelves.

If you are pondering, why we didn’t discuss a bedroom, well there isn’t one. This may have been done because The Moth is essentially meant for touring purposes, not as a sleeping unit. Nevertheless, the tiny dwelling comes with a ductless mini-split AC unit and an electric water heater.
