Architect and designer Manuel Bano Granell, popularly known as Manu Bano, has created two unique pieces of art in the form of OBJ-08 mirrors. The material that he has chosen to create wall and floor mirrors is copper. In ancient times copper was used to create ornaments and utensils but in the modern world, we rarely see designers using the metal in their creations.

The OBJ-08 mirrors have been unveiled as part of the Unique Design X Fair at Mexico City Art Week. The mirrors have been created by hammering and fine-polishing thin sheets of copper. The designer has used a single material to create the OBJ-08 floor mirror and OBJ-08 wall mirror. There has been no use of coatings, adhesives, or lacquers in any form.

The OBJ-08 mirrors make use of the reflective properties of the metal copper. When it is made smooth with polishing, it creates a mirror-like surface. In this way, Manu Bano has created sculptural art pieces that can decorate walls instead of paintings. In the case of OBJ-08 wall mirrors, there are two types of creations. One is concave and another convex both designed to complement each other.

OBJ-08 floor mirror is constituted of two similar and symmetrical pieces that have been polished on both sides. The hammering gives it a texture and also creates volume and structure to the floor mirror making it stand without any required support. Thus it forms a monolithic object that looks like a sculpture. The polished surface gives a beautiful contrast to the texture of the surrounding copper that is not hammered and is unpolished.

The OBJ-08 wall mirror and OBJ-08 floor mirror can add elegance to any space in the form of artful sculptures. As per Manu Bano, copper is the only material that can be shaped like this. It can be heated, hammered, reheated, and polished. Both his creations were manufactured in Mexico by the artisans under his guidance.
