Texas-based Indigo River Tiny Homes has been one of our favourite tiny house makers. The company has designed a score of tiny homes, including a gaggle of two-bedroom dwellings and the first-ever two-bathroom tiny house. Not shy about experimenting with its range, the company has now renovated an old mobile home, which it built in 2017. Dubbed the Othello tiny house, the mobile home comes poised on a double-axle trailer.
Measuring 28 feet long and 8.5 feet wide, the tiny house offers 238 square feet of space to the dweller. The Othello is finished in smart side composite wood, complemented by vinyl energy-efficient windows. It features a multi-roof with asphalt shingles, which reminds us of the Dolphins tiny house, Indigo’s compatriot Decathlon Tiny Homes released recently.
The home is outfitted with high-efficiency vinyl windows with Low-E glass that flood the interior with natural light. The entire home is well-insulated with fibreglass in floors, walls, and ceiling, which would help dwellers combat the scorching Texas heat.
Inside, the tiny house features a kitchen, a living room, a storage loft, and a bathroom. Dwellers first walk into the kitchen that comes equipped with granite countertops, a two-burner electric cooktop, a built-in over-the-range microwave, a double sink, and space for a 36-inch refrigerator. Opposite the countertop sits a folding IKEA table that can be utilized for dining.
Adjacent to the kitchen is the living room. The living room is furnished with a sofa and a console table that sit facing each other. Interestingly, there is no separate bedroom, and the living room functions as a makeshift bedroom. It is up to the makers whether they want to accoutre the space with a Murphy bed, transforming sofa, or other alternatives.

Opposite the bedroom is the bathroom. Accessed via a sliding barn door, the bathroom is surprisingly spacious. It features a 36×36-inch tiled shower, granite countertops, a standard flush toilet, an exhaust fan, and hookups for a stackable washer/dryer. Above the bathroom is a storage loft that maximizes vertical space. As is the case with most tiny homes in Texas and across the globe, the Othello tiny house runs on a standard RV-style hookup.
