Pamela Anderson is making the news again, but it’s not a new movie. The Baywatch star is trying her hand at furniture design and has launched her debut collection in collaboration with the brand Olive Ateliers. The 40-piece furniture collection is an imprint of the actress’s childhood memories at her grandmother’s farm.

Aptly named The Sentimentalist, the collection features romantic pieces for indoor and outdoor spaces with ageless rattan construction. It includes outdoor sofas, lounge chairs, tables, baskets, and settees made of natural rattan, which will patina over time.

Anderson says, “This collection feels like home to me — unpretentious, a little French, a little wild. Pieces made to be used, worn in, and lived with…I grew up by the sea. I remember our tiny cabin on the rocky beach, the wood turned silver from years of salt and weather. Even then, I was drawn to things that age and soften with time — furniture that holds you at dawn, pieces that grow more beautiful the longer you live with them. The best objects become part of your rituals.

Classic silhouettes are paired with barrel-shaped backrests on the loungers. The collection also features a teak dining table, and like Rattan, it is chosen to weather over time to match Anderson’s nostalgic design idea. The collection also includes furniture covers made from 100 percent olefin that protect the pieces from outdoor elements.

The pieces are designed to support a slower, more intentional way of living, what she calls a “very analog way.” It blends the rustic, lived-in feel of a coastal farmhouse with a refined, romantic sensibility.

None of the pieces of Pamela Anderson’s furniture collection is meant to look precious or untouchable. Anderson feels that furniture should age with you while gaining character through spilled wine, sun bleaching, daily use, and all the life lived. The Sentimentalist does exactly that by honoring time, life, and laughter, instead of changing the ever-evolving trends.
