There was a time when space travel seemed impossible. But now, human involvement has transcended Earth’s horizon. Humans aren’t the only ones shattering the ceiling; even animals are cementing their paws on the dunes of the cosmos. Introducing PAWDyssey, a personalized modular pod travel system, designed for dogs seeking thrill and adventure beyond the yard. In this pod, they can go on exploring the space far and beyond, with or without their human companion.

Showcasing at 2026 Barkitecture, this dog kennel is designed by Randell Design Group, a West Sussex-based architectural firm, for the most inquisitive and mischievous canines that like to break the fence and wander off on their own.

PAWDyssey will take them beyond the stars. In terms of design concept, the PAWDyssey dog kennel is a modular pod, designed to fit different sizes of dogs. For instance, the smaller top pod is perfect for the daring Dachshund, while the taller combination modules would comfortably embrace larger dogs. Its makers describe the top module as “companion ships.”

Don’t worry, the cozy enclosed space is not to stress out our four-legged traveler, but to offer a secure and safe sanctuary to curl up and dream of the delightful treats and toys. Talking about the food and toys, even in space, the dog will not be without his favorite snacks and toys, thanks to the docking ring perched atop a docking ring, serving a dual purpose.

The docking ring provides extra thrust for long-distance travel, while doubling as a base station stocked with essential supplies like food, water, and dog toys for the journey ahead. To fuel their curiosity, this cosmic vessel has porthole windows with one at the top, providing a 360-degree view of the surroundings, as they voyage through the galaxies.

The kennel is crafted using regular materials, such as plywood, faux leather, and acrylic. According to the Randell Design Group, “It also utilises some of NASA’s greatest inventions that have filtered into daily life, such as the memory foam bed for comfortable travel and foil space blanket insulation to keep the less furry passengers’ cosy as it passes through the cold of deep space.”

The PAWDyssey dog kennel offers an independent lifeline for enthusiastic canines in times of trouble and sustains them through it all, as the adventure goes on. You can experience the odyssey of this dog kennel, along with a furry martian at Goodwoof Barkitecture 2026.
