The Nate cupboard pictured here describes the journey of how the wood from trees is converted into a functional furniture object. Although the furniture object is not so appealing to look at, but the story that it speaks of is far more enticing. It tells about the expedition that a furniture piece takes, from nature, through design, then processing and then finally into a finished product. This fantastic design of the cupboard is created by Lisa Berkert Wallard, who is final-year students in the Design Program at Beckmans College of Design. Her design is selected by the design organization Tuttobene to be showcased at Salone del Mobile 2013 in Milan. The exhibition integrates the international design talents who come up with designs focusing on sustainability, economy and society.
