A casual sofa piece for the more avant garde home decor – this in a nutshell describes the essence of the above pictured sofa from Arketipo, designed by Giuseppe Viganò. Presented in a ‘dual’ manner, one-half of the sofa is covered in fabric, while the other half is draped in leather. This, according to the designer symbolizes the ‘contradiction in personality’ present in all of us. However, the ambit is not just limited to the eccentricity of the opposite. On closer inspection, we can make out the finer details of this fabric-leather combination and the seams (which is claimed to run over 300 meters). The hinge fasteners of the cushions are also left exposed to showcase the vibrancy of the odd color scheme. Such aesthetic considerations allude to the whole bohemian flavor of the furniture. The sofa item is currently exhibited at Salone del Mobile 2013, in Milan.
