I have been trying to setup a library at home and am persistently in quest of unique furniture that chimes in functionality and style. The space will be packed with a book frenzied me, paperback aroma, literary words, and letters forming them. So, a Scrabble board that doubles as a functional coffee table will fit write-in my requirement.

This is primarily why it didn’t take me a second to start typing the very instant I came across this incredible woodworked charmer from Charles River Woodwork on Etsy.

Based outside of Boston, MA, the studio has made some fantastic outings with rustic wall decor and handcrafted furniture items inspired by the beauty of natural reclaimed wood. This 25- x 25-inch coffee table with a built-in Scrabble board is one of their most intriguing pieces, at least for someone like me.

Made in a frame of rustic stained and clear-coated pine, this retro-modern table is a fully-functional and regulation Scrabble board with a full set of letter tiles and letter holders. The table – like a traditional board – features cutouts on the top, that hold tiles in place. It is surrounded by letter racks for four players.

The fascination begins when you want to pause the game and retire for a cup of coffee. Simply slide back its removable tempered glass top into place and the table is ready with a durable, scratch-resistant tabletop for everyday use.

If you think you are compromising on functionality, the Scrabble table measure 18-inches tall (standard coffee table height). The playing area and the glass top are supported on four steel hairpin legs. For ease of transportation and storage, these legs are easily removable and can quickly assemble back using pre-drilled holes and screwdriver.
