This tiny, Yellow & Blue vacation rental is built from a repurposed 20′ x 8’ shipping container by CargoHome based in Waco, Texas. These are the same guys who had built the Helm shipping container home a few months ago. Inside the 160-square-foot home is a living room, kitchen with dining table, a bedroom for two and a bathroom complete with a toilet and shower. There is even a rooftop deck to enjoy the best of the surroundings.
The exterior of the shipping container vacation home is clad in cedar charred through shou sugi ban, the Japanese wood-preserving technique. There are gaps in the cladding layer, which give glimpses of the original shipping container. On the other hand, the interior space is paneled in pine shiplap, painted white for a chic effect.
Entry is through the original container doors that are refined by replacing steel panels with glass, which brings in natural light and views. Visitors entering inside would find a simple living area with a sofa that turns into an extra bed.

Next is the kitchenette equipped with 8′ countertop, sink, mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and a dining bar for two persons. The bathroom tucked away at one end of the tiny house features a small vanity and sink, flush toilet, and a custom-tiled shower. The exciting part of the vacation rental is its rooftop deck, accessed through a staircase from the outside.
This shipping container vacation home is also outfitted with modern amenities like Wi-Fi, TV, heating and cooling systems to ensure full comfort for guests. It can currently be booked on Airbnb for $70 a night.
