Sony has launched new BRAVIA Theatre audio products for 2026, aiming to bring the cinema experience to even more homes. The new Sony lineup comprises BRAVIA Theatre Bar 7 and Theatre Bar 5 soundbars aimed at different users. Bar 7 is suitable for those wanting Atmos performance from a single bar, while Bar 5 provides a balance of performance and value, making it ideal for smaller spaces. The 2026 lineup also includes optional speakers such as BRAVIA Theatre Sub 9, Theatre Sub 8, and Theatre Rear 9 to upgrade these sound systems.

The core highlight of the 2026 Sony audio lineup is the BRAVIA Theatre Bar 7. It is a 5.0.2-channel soundbar equipped with nine speaker units, including dedicated up-firing and side-firing units. It also supports Dolby Atmos/DTS:X to deliver 3D surround sound from a single bar. Furthermore, Sony’s 360 Spatial Sound Mapping creates five phantom speakers in front of you and reflects sound off the ceiling and walls for cinema-style surround sound from a single soundbar. There is also an option to calibrate audio for a specific room.

You can further enhance your setup by adding optional subwoofers and rear speakers for deeper bass and a richer surround experience. With these upgrades, you can enjoy IMAX Enhanced content at its full potential.

On the other hand, the BRAVIA Theatre Bar 5 is a 3.1 channel system with a wireless subwoofer, delivering powerful bass. It also supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X to enhance the listening experience. It has a dedicated center channel offering clear dialogue. The soundbar utilizes Sony’s Vertical Surround Engine, S-Force PRO Front Surround, and Sony’s unique up-mixer technology to deliver three-dimensional immersive sound.

Both soundbars can be paired with compatible BRAVIA TVs, including the newly launched 2026 BRAVIA 3 II TV, to control the soundbar from the TV menu. The BRAVIA Connect app can also be used to control them from your smartphone. You can adjust volume, sound profiles, and access advanced settings as well.

The lineup also includes new Sub 9 and Sub 8 wireless subwoofers with 200mm driver units to expand the bass capabilities of the 2026 home theater lineup. The Sub 9 model differentiates itself with dual opposing drivers. Both subwoofers in the BRAVIA Theatre series support dual subwoofer play, meaning you can add extra subwoofers to spread bass evenly in every corner.

The lineup also includes Rear 9 wireless speakers equipped with 80mm up-firing speakers to elevate rear-channel performance. BRAVIA Theatre Bar 7 and Theatre Bar 5 are now available to pre-order, for £699 ($925) and £399 ($530), respectively, on the Sony UK official website. The US website currently lists them as “Available Soon”.
