Somewhere around hops-growing zones of US, once stood a vintage barn at Mohawk River Valley of upper New York. Not long ago, Texas-based renovation company Heritage Restorations restored and relocated it to a ranch in Austin. Salvaged materials of the existing structure are used to create cozy accommodation that now serves as an art studio and guest house for its owners. Due to open design and high ceiling of the hops barn, there is enough space to add loft space. This restored barn features custom-built internal stair with slide that makes it a playful dwelling.

Exteriors of this barn have been decked with reclaimed siding and a lot of windows are included to bless the interior space with natural light. Covered porch in front provides enough sitting space, and on the inside the open floor plan house includes kitchen featuring bluish cabinets and a bathroom with glass shower cabin. Open ceiling with exposed beams adds charming traditional vibe to space, while interior space is furnished with vintage furniture, lighting, fan and more. And lastly, having a custom-built slide at home is like childhood dream come true for all.

Truly this restored barn combines richness of its historical past with comforts of modern life. Barn conversions may take time, but they are essential to preserve historic architecture for the benefit of the current and future generations.
