Located on the Big Island of Hawaii, near the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, the Volcano Treehouse by Skye is built 20-feet above the ground, into five ohia trees. There are large windows and multiple decks for a 360-degree view of the surrounding nature.

Location of the treehouse next to the active Kilauea volcano is the most interesting part that makes it a perfect getaway for adventurers.

Not to mention, the treehouse has spacious living areas, kitchen and bedrooms to accommodate up to six people at a time. Inside, you can find plenty of plants and wood decorations, including tree branches repurposed as handrails. From walls, and floor to ceiling, there is a creative use of reclaimed wood all around the treehouse.

Furthermore, there is a unique skywalk and deck overlooking the lush green vegetation. Guests can even set up a bonfire to get cozy around in the evenings.

As for the Kilauea, the active shield volcano last erupted in May 2018 and destroyed over 700 homes in the neighborhood. Lava has engulfed many homes and buried them under a thick layer of volcanic ash.

If you’re brave enough to spend a night near an active volcano, the Volcano Treehouse by Skye is the place for you. You can book your place for $350 per night.
