How often do we come across stories and research work, where fresh produce (fruits and vegetables) has pesticide residues on it even after being cleaned thoroughly with water? Many doltish folks would recommend using detergent as a saviour in such cases, but do you know that these detergents are a potential threat to both your health and environment. So much so, that the detergent powder we use to wash our clothes has an adverse impact on the environment too.

Why am I talking about all this? Well, there is a brand called WASHWOW, which is dedicated to sustainable living and has introduced a portable washing device that cleans, disinfects and deodorizes all in one. Dubbed WASHWOW W1, this ball-shaped portable device is not only a good alternative to toxic detergents but also a vital gizmo for cleaning fruits, veggies and baby products like soothers and sippers.

The company touts that the device is very effective in removing pesticide residues from vegetables and fruits. WASHWOW W1 achieves efficient cleaning, deodorization, and sterilization and can able to remove over 99.9-percent of bacteria.

Spherical in shape, this game-changing electronic washing device leverages water electrolysis technology to clean clothes, fruits and vegetables. As per the brand, when water is electrolyzed, alkaline ions are generated at the negative pole, creating a cleaning environment like washing powder. This electrolyzed water than oxidizes and decomposes metal oxides, oily organic matter, and some residual chemical components in water.

Overall, WASHWOW W1 is an alternative solution to laundry detergents and can be reused up to thousands of times. As a user, the device can even be placed inside a washing machine or used a washing machine (if cleaning small sized clothes inside a small tub). Currently being crowdfunded on Kickstarter, WASHWOW W1 is available for an early bird price of US$59.
