Drawing inspiration from the Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetic, ZBOZHZHA is a stunning pendant lamp made from recycled cardboard and paper. The name Zbozhzha (bread and cereals in Belarusian) was chosen for “a certain connection with nature in this word because grain is what life and growth begin with.”

Sustainable design studio ZBOZHZHA has launched its first collection of pendant lights that pay homage to nature and the lands from which they originate. For environmentally friendly materials, the studio used a unique blend of recycled cardboard, clay, and minerals. Nature-inspired organic and imperfect shapes create an unpolished charm setting the Zbozhzha lighting apart.

The lighting fixtures do not limit creative expression while the texture refers to natural inspiration such as tree bark, sea foam, and animal fur, engaging both visual appreciation and tactile interaction. Furthermore, these lamps express organic forms and texture that only handcrafting can achieve and keep with the wabi-sabi philosophy of valuing beauty in simplicity.

Founders and designers Ivan Kruk and Mikhail Moyseyuk have crafted the Pershy and Patchvara lampshades using exclusive techniques that blend design, craftsmanship, and environmental awareness with unique materials. Pershy and Patchvara lampshades appear visually simple but their creation involved a complex process done by hand.

The multiple stages of styling, drying, and applying texture combine to create the imperfect finishes of the lamps, which are exquisite for their individuality. The collection is further designed primarily for wabi-sabi style interiors however these luminaries can be seamlessly integrated into many other styles.

They can support and complement the overall interior concept by providing localized lighting or they can be its central element. Needless to say, the Zbozhzha pendant lamp is a stunning lighting fixture for all settings.
