Kisawa Sanctuary is a luxury, 3D printed hotel slated to open in the summer of 2020 in Benguerra Island, Mozambique, a WWF National Marine Park famous for its wide variety of ecosystems. Aside from utilizing 3D printing technology, the project will involve local artists and materials.

There will be a total of 12 one, two and three bedroom dome-shaped bungalows built across 300-hectares of private sanctuary beach, forest and sand dunes. Each bungalow is set within one acre of private accommodation and includes a personal beachfront.

There will be four dining venues, two bars, and various on-location culinary experiences. Furthermore, there will be swimming pools, shaded areas, outdoor kitchen, massage hut and personal e-bikes to travel around. Guests will also be able to enjoy other on-property facilities including a gym, yoga and meditation pavilion, tennis court as well as water sports facility.

Kisawa Sanctuary will not only allow people to enjoy a vacation in the middle of nature but also facilitate health and fitness. It will be an all-inclusive resort that offers a touch of luxury as well as relaxation in one place.

Interestingly, the entire construction will be done thoughtfully, minimizing the overall environmental footprint. Kisawa in partnership with its non-profit sister project, Bazaruto Center for Scientific Studies (BCSS) will also maintain balance and harmony throughout the construction. Kisawa’s founder Nina Flohr will be leading the project.

According to CNTraveler, they will be propagating the local ecosystem by printing supports for coral reefs and marine habitats.
