LG Electronics (LG) has been teasing the bendable OLED display technology for the past few years and finally, we have got some good news. The Korean company has taken the wraps off a new LG OLED Flex LX3 model, touted as the world’s first bendable 42-inch OLED display. Interestingly, the screen is customizable and can be transformed from a curved to a flat display, as and when the user requires it.

This functionality renders the LX3 OLED TV ideal for immersive gaming as well as for enjoying live TV broadcasts and content streaming services. To enhance the big-screen gaming experience, it supports Dolby Vision at 4K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. For connectivity, you get the latest HDMI 2.1 and it also features variable refresh rate (VRR) and auto low latency mode (ALLM) for an enhanced gaming experience.

The TV is G-SYNC compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium certified, and also comes with an image resize feature that allows users to adjust the size of the onscreen image. Gamers can shrink the size of the 42-inches display to a 32- or 27-inch image according to the type of the game. Other important features of the LX3 OLED TV are infinite contrast, deep blacks, highly-accurate colors, 0.1 millisecond response time, and low input lag.

The LX3 OLED TV is powered by (Alpha) 9 Gen 5 intelligent processor and unique picture algorithms to provide a life-like viewing experience. It comes with a new Game app that supports custom screensavers, has shortcuts to popular apps such as Twitch and YouTube, and provides a list of connected external input devices. The TV is integrated with two front-firing 40W speakers with support for Dolby Atmos to elevate the gaming and content-viewing experience.

Another cool feature of this transforming TV is the Multi-View mode, which allows gamers to view content from two different sources simultaneously. It means they can play a console game on one side while watching YouTube videos on the other side of the screen.

LG hasn’t released any details about the pricing or availability of the new LG OLED Flex TV. It will be on display at IFA 2022 in Berlin, Germany.

Previously, Skyworth also announced a transformable OLED TV this year.
