Our homes are changing and so are the appliances, especially in the kitchen. More and more brands are offering personalized equipment to enhance your cooking experience. Last year at CES, Samsung introduced a line-up of Bespoke refrigerators that allows you to choose the color of door panels for personalized kitchen decor. In the same line, LG has just introduced the MoodUP refrigerator that raises the bar with its color-changing LED door panels.

This 21-cubic-feet refrigerator will offer an entirely diverse look for your cooking space than the typical white or brushed metal options. You can change the color of the door panels using the ThinQ app. It will let you create a personalized environment in your kitchen as you go about preparing your meals.

You can pick from 22 colors for the upper door panel (refrigerator) and 19 hues for the lower one (freezer). These customizable door panels offer unparalleled interior design flexibility. When the LED door panels are off, the fridge has a traditional appearance with a blend of Lux Gray and Lux White shades.

Brandt Varner, vice president of product market for LG Electronics Home Appliances, said;

Incorporating LG’s innovative design and cutting-edge technologies, the new refrigerator with MoodUP technology delivers functionality and convenience by adding a level of elevation to the home kitchen while keeping food fresher for longer. From customizable colors and moods to personalized playlists, this unique refrigerator demonstrates LG’s commitment to expanding and evolving the user experience for a better life at home.

You can choose from different color themes such as ‘Mood,’ ‘Season,’ ‘Place,’ and ‘Pop’ to match different moods. In addition, there is a built-in Bluetooth speaker to play songs through your smartphone, laptop, or tablet. The LED panels can also change colors in sync with the music to make the cooking experience lively.

The MoodUP refrigerator also provides notifications through colorful lights. If you have left the door open, the LED panel on that particular door blinks repeatedly, notifying you to close it in order to prevent energy loss. There are also built-in motion sensors, which will make midnight snacking much easier.

LG has employed their On-Device AI chip for smart appliances that ameliorates the user experience with voice and vision recognition and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. The MoodUP refrigerator will be showcased at IFA 2022, along with other innovations like the Aero Furniture air-purifying table.
