It’s really hard for people to be attentive throughout and jot down all the points during routine meetings. But, Listening Table by The New York Times provides you a feasible solution to make the most out of daily meetings. It is a smart table that not only records conversations but also provides a transcript of important points from the chaotic conversation.

This conference table features one speaker at center along with omni-directional microphone encircled by an LED ring that glows when recording. There is also a simple touch pad on the table, which can be tapped by any user when something important has been said. To ensure information security, the table comes with two security features.

The first one is to switch off the recording to make sure that nothing confidential has been recorded so that the conversation may not be passed onto any rival companies. On the other hand, second feature deletes all transcripts from the table within 28 days. Main purpose of designing this table is only to let you remember highlights of the meeting.

Previously, we’ve seen Analog Memory Desk that allows users to write down important ideas running through their mind to view them later. But the Listening Table is way smarter than the analog desk and don’t require any manual effort to search the particular point. Sadly, no details of commercial launch or production of this innovative smart table have been revealed yet.
