Nautilus II table emulates shell design to exactness

Looking to emulate the nautilus shell, this piece of furniture design by Marc Fish (Newhaven-based designer) is an amalgamation of innovative construction methods and computer aided technology. Marc calls it the Nautilus II table which is a clear inspiration of organic material furniture made from 4000 pieces of walnut and sycamore veneer. The material is carefully layered keeping in mind the natural way these fall into each other and to achieve the shape of nautilus shell it has the golden ratio rule which in the end gives design line swirling effect.

The table has been draped with a texture that gives a very realistic effect of the outside of a shell and made by hand carving the fluted growth patterns. There is also a satin sheen that runs smoothly round into the chambered area. All-in-all this table is perfectly designed and truly complements modern home décor fit for any setting.
