There are days when I find it hard to scour a new tiny house on wheels, and there are days when not one or two, but a gaggle of tiny homes are tipped off to me. Yesterday it was the Tink tiny house by Modern Tiny Living, today it is a custom tiny home, capable of withstanding extreme cold weather, designed by Tru Form Tiny. Unlike Modern Tiny Living, Tru Form Tiny takes a unique, non-traditional approach to design. The company doesn’t stick to standard plans and instead prefers designing homes entirely from the ground up. This unnamed tiny house is a perfect example of that custom philosophy.
This 36ft four-season tiny house comes poised on a quad-axle trailer. The exterior features durable vinyl siding with handsome cedar accents, all topped by a metal roof. True to Tru Form Tiny’s standards, it’s equipped with high-R-value insulation, energy-efficient Low-E windows, and a heating system built for subfreezing conditions. Additional highlights include a high-efficiency mini-split system, a wood stove rough-in for extreme cold, tankless hot water, and utility setups ready for off-grid use when desired.
One of Tru Form Tiny’s signature elements is their impressive trifold glass doors, and this house is no exception. A large set of trifold doors opens the living area to the outdoors. Like other models in their lineup, this one offers a spacious, airy interior with high ceilings and plenty of natural light from generous windows.
The open layout includes comfortable furnishings, including the likes of a sofa, chair, and table, alongside a mini-split for cooling and a wood-burning stove ready for harsh winters. Not to mention, a compact dining table that separates the living space from the kitchen.
Speaking of the kitchen, it comes equipped with a steel sink, oven, four-burner propane stove, dishwasher, full fridge/freezer, and abundant counter space plus cabinetry. One detail that really caught my eye is the microwave, which seamlessly integrates into the storage-filled staircase leading up to the loft bedroom, beautifully done.
The bedroom includes a double mattress, alongside an entertainment center and TV, something I personally love, being a bit of a TV enthusiast myself. Back on the main level, the bathroom is nicely appointed with a glass-enclosed shower, composting toilet, vanity sink, and plenty of storage cabinets.
Like most tiny homes these days, this 36ft four-season unnamed tiny house dwelling also includes a separate washer and dryer. The tiny house relies on power via a standard RV-style hookup. There is no word on how much the custom model tiny house costs, but we estimate it to cost well-above $150K.
