UK-based Compass Pools has revealed plans to build an infinity pool with 360-degree views on the rooftop of a 55-story building. Dubbed the world’s first infinity pool, it will lure everyone interested in swimming high above the city.

Compass Pool’s swimming pool designer and technical director Alex Kemsley said,

Architects often come to us to design roof top infinity pools, but rarely do we get a say in the building design because the pool is usually an afterthought.

It will be a 600,000-litre pool called Infinity London that would sit atop a luxury hotel, providing guests a 360-degree panoramic view of the city below.

In addition to the transparent walls, the swimming pool will also have a see-through acrylic floor – once you’re in there, you’ll feel as if you were floating in mid-air.

The entry would be through a submarine door via a rotating spiral staircase that rises from the pool floor to take the swimmer in and out of the pool.

There would also be features like a built-in anemometer to monitor wind speed and a computerized management system to ensure the right temperature in the pool.

The pool will be heated using waste heat generated from air condition systems of the building. There will also be a full spectrum of lights which will make the building appear like a sparkling jewel-topped torch during the night.

According to the official website, the construction of the Infinity London project is scheduled to begin next year.

Infinity pools are in trend and you can find them in most of the luxury hotels, however, if this one goes out without any implications, it would surely be a thrilling experience.
