Kristin and Will are an adventurous couple living full-time in a converted bus home with their dog Rush and baby girl Roam for the past several years. When they thought of having their own debt-free home, an ideal option that came up was converting a bus into a tiny house on wheels. They bought old 31-feet long Air Force bus and converted it into a livable place. It took them one and a half years and around 30k to achieve the final result.

The couple has named their bus conversion as The Number Juan Bus that features dark blue exteriors with white trim toward the roof. The 180-square-feet, bus home has two bedrooms, kitchen and a bathroom complete with a shower and toilet.

The kitchen features a countertop made from wood recovered from Jacksonville Beach Pier that got destroyed during Hurricane Matthew in 2016. It is further finished with marine epoxy that gives it a cool shiny look.

The kitchen also has a sink with a flexible faucet that can be stretched out to be used as an outdoor shower. A table hangs below the countertop that covers up the water heater behind. For cooking, they use a propane stove and a microwave oven. There are plenty of shelves above the kitchen nook and also under-counter cabinets.

The living area has a cozy sofa that can be converted into an additional sleeping area. There is also a work desk with a swiveling TV and closet area included in the bus home. The bedroom lies in the rear of the bus and hides underneath storage. A special covered bed is also made on a platform for the baby.

On the outside, the bus home has a custom deck and solar panels on the roof, as well as a custom bumper to store a bicycle at the back. The bus home is fully customized for the couple’s lifestyle with their child and pet. They are currently traveling around the country in the Number Juan Bus.
