Looking for sophisticated, highly-functional and eco-friendly seating solutions for your home or office? If so, you need to check out the timeless Axyl armchair by UK-based contemporary furniture manufacturer Allermuir. It is part of a multi award-wining collection designed by Benjamin Hubert, British design entrepreneur and the founder of LAYER Design.

The Axyl collection consisting of sleek chairs, tables, and stools boasts a strong geometric layout that’s completely original. Nonetheless, some design elements draw inspiration from familiar references, like the Mid-Century Danish round shell and its A-frame typology. From the design plan to full production, Hubert and the British furniture brand took two years to complete the collection.

The Axyl chair consists of recycled die-cast aluminum Y-frame topped with a injection molded plastic shell that embraces user. One can even add an optional seat cushion for extra comfort. When not in use, you can easily stack up to four Axyl chairs for easy storage.

The recycled aluminum in Y-frame of the chair uses just 5-percent of energy than it is required to create new aluminum. This material not only provides maximum strength to the chair but also makes it 99-percent recyclable.

The frame is of the Axyl chair is available in various finishes. Likewise, the plastic shell is available in different finishes and even in a variety of low-impact materials, including recycled wood fiber and reclaimed timber.
