There is still time for season’s greetings, but it’s never too early to begin your preparation for the festivities, both merry and eerie. Keeping that in mind, I have made a black Halloween candle with red wax chunks to get you into the spooky spirit, I am already soaked in. For this insanely easy DIY gory-looking candle, you will need a handful of easily available supplies. For what should you need, and how you can make it, read on…

You can use colored wax or plain soy wax with a black crayon to get the desired effect. A perfect contender for a scary ensemble, this DIY black Halloween candle is an absolute delight to behold.

Materials Required:

  • Glass container
  • Wick
  • Soy wax (colored or plain)
  • Pigment for desired color or crayons
  • Pan and a spoon

DIY Black Halloween Candle

  • Dump the black wax or plain wax in a pan over medium heat to melt
  • Add the black crayon if you do not have black wax or pigment for the color
  • If you want fragrance, you can add an essential oil of choice to the melted wax
  • Next, place the wick and dump some red wax chunks in the glass container
  • Then pour the black melted wax over the red wax chunks
  • Add more red wax pieces on top to give it a gory look
  • To complete the scary and bloody ensemble, drip some melted red wax outside the container
  • And there you go! You can adorn it with a ribbon or lace if you want to gift it or make it more festive

I hope you enjoy making this black Halloween candle. Check out the complete step-by-step video tutorial below:
