The mobile housing industry is thriving in North America, New Zealand, and Australia, but it is not only limited to these countries. The downsized lifestyle is equally coveted in Japan. Famous Japanese RV maker, Kworks, in partnership with Japanese home goods manufacturer Lixil, has set out to create the Mio Space trailer, an adaptable, moving room to be used year-round. Designed to be a versatile space, the Mio Space trailer allows the user to furnish it however they please, which is a fresh breath amid the gaggle of pre-furnished camping trailers.

Kworks has created two potential usages for its Mio Space. You can use it as a camping trailer or as an extension of your home. Fusing quality and cutting-edge technology in a fascinating design, the Mio Space features a cuboid structure with rounded edges. It boasts warm wooden paneling inside out, lending it a luxurious touch.

There are two entrances; one is a typical door located on the side and a hatch that opens up to make an awning with the top half and a deck with the bottom half. Strategically placed wooden slats encompass the interior from top to bottom.

The layout of the Mio Space is designed to insert storage and other amenities. It even includes a kitchen area built into the front of the trailer. The interior offers substantial space that is left as is for the user to refurbish as they like, whether it is to be used for camping, a guest house, a backyard studio, or a permanent mobile home.

Although the pricing and specific features of the Mio Space are unknown, the pre-orders for the adaptable trailer start in the summer of 2024 with initial sales being limited to Japan.
