Claimed to be different and versatile compared to available hammock tents on the market, SkyNest can be used for various purposes. It can be used as a hammock tent, hammock, tarp, and tent. Some of the features advocated by the company include its quick set-up, modular design, ultra-lightweight, large interior space, double-layer bottom, and two-door design.
Weighing about 3.3 pounds, the SkyNest hammock tent is easy to carry in a backpack when camping and exploring. The company claims that it can be set up in a minute which sounds like an exaggeration but still, its design and utility draw attention. The internal cross-section of the usual ridge hammock is generally triangular but the SkyNest offers a pentagon shape that is roomier compared to the ordinary hammocks. This accounts for its large interior space. The ridge offers an accessory bag to hold small items like a smartphone or a water bottle while the user rests comfortably.
The hammock and rainfly tarp can be separated for independent use making the hammock tent system multi-functional. SkyNest protects from UV rays, rain, and even snow when used as a hammock tent. The mosquito net ensures you are not troubled by insects as you rest inside the hammock tent. In chair mode, it allows the user to indulge in camping activities like cooking and the tarp acts like a porch.
