Austria’s Krug Expedition and Iceland-based automotive company Arctic Trucks joined hands to create an expedition-grade truck, the Bedrock XT2. It is a unique 6×4 off-road motorhome that converts a variant of the Ford Super Duty F-550 to provide next-level suspension and chassis frame reliability for long-distance, off-grid travels.
This luxury motorhome garnered great interest in the Overland Expo West in Arizona this month, where a lot many European brands highlighted their works. The Bedrock XT2 has off-grid capabilities with 118-gallon freshwater, 60-gallon greywater, 1,450-watt solar power, and 23,000-watt-hours lithium-ion battery bank. Measuring 27.5 feet long, the motorhome has a six-wheel chassis. According to Krug, the extra axle helps in balancing the weight, preventing overload. It also improves other features of the motorhome.
The exterior features reinforced sandwich panels with premium insulation to keep the expeditioners cozy in the harsh climes, while reducing the overall energy consumption inside the motorhome. The interior is well-designed with a kitchenette, dining area, main bed, and bathroom.
The kitchen has a soft touch anti-fingerprint countertop, ideal for smooth working so one can enjoy culinary adventure on the go. There is an induction hob with two cooking zones and the stainless steel sink is scratch-resistant. Below the countertop is an oven with a microwave so that you can keep your food warm and ready for serving whenever wanted. There is even a foldable countertop extension to increase the prep area when you are working in the compact kitchen and an integrated fridge-freezer combination.
One of the standout features of the Bedrock XT2 motorhome is its dining area. It looks welcoming with high-quality fabric upholstered 7-8 person seating. The height-adjustable table in the middle of the area allows it to be turned into a sleeping area.

The bedroom with a king-size bed is located in the cab-over part of the motorhome. It has a roof hatch with insulated sandwich panels that include an insect screen and warning buzzer. Wall-mounted storage cabinets are flanking the bed.
The bathroom has a cabinet for bathroom accessories, a mirror, and a vanity sink. There is a waterless dry separation toilet with a 7.5-liter urine tank and a shower set with a concealed underfloor shower tray.
The interior is white and uses wooden veneer, while the furniture is made from lightweight wood panels. There are safety locks on doors and drawers so that you don’t have to worry about break-ins. The Bedrock XT2 motorhome is a great offering for your outdoor expeditions.
