Karim Rashid is one of the most famous industrial designers in the world. His design style is a blend of modern minimalism and a hint of sensuality that seamlessly integrates into any contemporary space. His Bound seating collection designed for German brand Kusch + Co aims to bring people together. Its aesthetic design plays with human senses- sight, touch and general perception – aspiring to engage the emotions and retain the experience in memory.

With Bound furniture lineup, Rashid has shown his interest in the psychological power of objects and spaces. Rashid wished to make Bound a catalyst in gatherings as its reductive design would invite people to relax. Moreover, each furniture piece was created to be sustainable with durability and replaceable components.

The lineup embodies six vital concepts including beauty, comfort, balance, functionality, quality and relations. The color palettes used in the collection also resonate with emotional significance. For example, the use of his staple color pink creates a sense of well-being, energy and positive spirit. The contrast-color edges of each piece create a graphic appeal that resonates well with modern aesthetics.

Bound seating collection features an armchair, sofa and table. Bound armchair has a cubical shape that draws attention. The bottom of the armchair is a rectangle with curved edges attached to a thick iron rod, supporting the entire structure. Bound sofa is the epitome of minimalism. The curved edges play right into the ongoing furniture design trend.

Another intriguing piece in the collection is Bound table, which is available in two sizes high and low. Given their height differences, the tables create an appealing nesting design, suitable for both residential and commercial setups.

Bound seating collection can be used in solo or group configurations in living rooms, hotel lobbies or offices. The plush Bound seating creates a powerful and unforgettable experience.
