TCL has announced its QM6K TV Series at the 2025 CES and here are the key details you would like to know about this new release which is being called the Precise Dimming Series by the company. Powered by the AiPQ Pro Processor, the series comes with new enhanced QD-Mini LED technology for better immersive experiences whether watching movies, a cricket match or playing games

TCL’s own Pangu Lab has developed the new Super High Energy LED Chip after significant year-over-year leaps in QD-Mini LED picture quality. With the 2025 upgrade, the company claims to increase brightness output by more than 53 percent, while also increasing light efficiency by 10 percent.

The team has also created a new Condensed Micro Lens to complement the brightness boost. It is an upgraded version of the 2024 UWA Dual Arch Lens, crafted with specially formulated optical materials for enhanced stability and a narrower light path for more precise light control.

The 2025 mini-LED TVs also come with a redesigned backlight system that reduces optical distance (OD) between the backlight and diffuser plate, resulting in the company’s own micro OD approach. The minimized optical distance virtually eliminates any halo effect (blooming), and creates clear, sharp edges, even between the brightest white and darkest black. This feature, along with the new lens ensures a truly premium Mini LED experience as it provides a 143 percent improvement in backlight uniformity, and about 18 percent improvement in blooming control.

TCL’s improved QD-Mini LED backlight technology works in conjunction with a high-contrast CSOT HVA Panel that blocks light when the LCD is in the closed position. According to the company, this way it achieves up to 7,000:1 static contrast, which is up to 5 times better than others in the market. Furthermore, the LCD display is capable of 98 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut while the new Color Optimization Algorithm ensures rich colors.

TCL has also improved processing capabilities like Zero-Delay Transient Response that helps creating higher peak brightness without any after image. The new TVs come with an upgraded Bi-directional 23-bit Backlight Controller to provide over 65,000 levels of brightness. There is also a new Dynamic Light Algorithm, which can render SDR signals at near-HDR quality.

Other highlighting features are 144Hz Native Refresh Rate, Dolby Vision IQ, Dolby Atmos, Filmmaker Mode, built-in 2.1 speaker system, Google TV and a slimmer 360 bezel-less design. TCL will be launching the QM6K series models as the first of its phased rollout. These TVs are available in different sizes, with prices starting from the smallest 50” screen size for $750.
