Ever wanted a kitchen robot that can cook for you? Meet Posha – a smart countertop robot that works like your private chef. It adds ingredients, stirs, and adjusts heat on its own using AI and a built-in camera. Ideal for busy people, it can cook global dishes with little effort from you.

Formerly known as Nymble, the project is the brainchild of Raghav Gupta and Rohin Malhotra. They founded the company in Bengaluru, India, in 2017, but relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area in the middle of the pandemic. Based on customer feedback, they transformed their original robotic arm concept into a compact, user-friendly countertop appliance.

Now, the Posha unit resembles a standard countertop appliance featuring a touchscreen interface, automatic ingredient dispensers, refillable spice pods, oil and water containers, a large detachable pan with modular stirrer and spatula attachments, and a powerful built-in heating system to handle the entire cooking process on its own.

Posha can make real cooking decisions like adjusting heat, texture, and timing, just like a home chef. All you have to do is select your preferred recipe, input the ingredients, insert the spice pods, and it will start the cooking process. The machine will notify you through your phone or smartwatch when the meal is ready. Each cooking session serves up to 4-5 people, making it perfect for family meals.

Posha’s culinary capabilities are powered by its Computer Vision technology that allows it it make precise adjustments. It systematically tracks real-time changes in key attributes like color, size, and texture of ingredients throughout various cooking stages such as frying, softening, achieving consistency, and size reduction.

Posha comes with a companion app that allows you to schedule meals, explore recipes by diet, cuisine, or ingredients, and track the cooking progress from anywhere. The app also collects feedback to improve, adapting to various dietary preferences like vegetarian, vegan, Paleo, and Keto.

From Indian delicacies to global favorites such as French Ratatouille, Italian pasta, Asian Pad Thai, Teriyaki Chicken, and American dishes like Fajitas and Caribbean Fried Rice, you can effortlessly prepare a wide range of meals with the Posha robot – right from the comfort of your couch.

The Posha kitchen robot is priced at $1,500, with pre-orders starting at a $25 deposit. The next batch ships in August 2025. For $15/month, you can also go for a Posha membership that gives you unlimited recipes, meal planning tools, and real-time tracking. You can also manage and add recipes.

In recent updates, Posha cooking robot has raised $8 million in Series A funding from Accel, which would help the company accelerate its mission of providing a private chef robot in our kitchens.
