As a celebration of the flora and fauna of the British Isles, Rolls-Royce has unveiled exquisite wildlife-inspired artwork at London Craft Week 2025. The iconic automaker has enraptured the world once again, not with its cars, but artwork inspired by woodland magic. Artisans from the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood created a series of bespoke, artistic endeavors for the festival, marking the symphonic relationship between nature and craftsmanship.
London Craft Week, known for exhibiting the finest in contemporary and traditional craftsmanship, has provided the ideal stage for the British automotive company to highlight its deep commitment to creativity and artisanal excellence.
Boris Weletzky, Regional Director, United Kingdom, Europe, and Central Asia, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, shared in the press release, “For this year’s event, I am delighted to announce that our highly talented artisans and designers from the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood have created a stunning Bespoke artwork, inspired by the rich and fascinating variety of wildlife in the United Kingdom. This exquisite display of creativity and craftsmanship will be on display at our flagship showroom, in the heart of Mayfair, for the duration of the event in May.”
The varied artwork celebrates the rich biodiversity of British woodlands and meadows. The elaborate display includes an enchanting woodland-inspired triptych, hand-built to evoke the serene beauty of British forests. It is a testament to Rolls-Royce’s dedication to turning inspiration from nature into tangible art.
The elaborate artwork flaunts intricate depictions of native wildlife, including birds, deer, and foxes, set against a pristine backdrop of native trees and wildflowers. It captures the beauty of the wilderness at three evocative moments in time (day, evening, and night). A kingfisher makes an appearance in each scene, with different craft techniques used to depict the character of the bird during different times of the day. Each panel uses a range of complex techniques, transforming leather, wood, metal, and thread into an immersive natural tableau.
For the first panel, dubbed “Swan Lake,” artisans spent over 100 hours meticulously recreating a tranquil lakeside scene. The lake has two swans on the water and a kingfisher hovering above. Then comes the “Enchanted Woodland” section with over 400 hours of labor.
While the first two panels employed hand painting, airbrushing, and embroidery, the third panel, depicting the night, dubbed “Stealth After Dark,” is probably the most intricate one. It is made with over 500 hours of carefully cutting, pressing, and assembling tessellated veneer shapes.
Rolls-Royce’s participation in London Craft Week 2025 is a reminder that true luxury is in the details. The brand has exhibited its commitment to bespoke craftsmanship by drawing inspiration from the natural world, creating an enduring work of art.
