Sleeping in the back of a Jeep Wrangler can be cramped, especially for taller individuals and that is why many owners have turned to rooftop tents (RTTs) for a more comfortable and spacious camping experience. Looking into the growing popularity of RTTs, Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) by Mopar has launched an innovative, conceptual camping solution for the Jeep Wrangler. The all-new Awning and Rooftop Tent (ARTT) concept turns your regular Wrangler into a pop-top micro-camper, complete with shading.
Designed specifically for the four-door Jeep Wrangler, the all-new Awning and Rooftop Tent (ARTT) concept was created in partnership with Dometic. Built with a lightweight carbon-fiber shell, the ARTT concept eliminates the need for a bulky roof rack system by attaching directly to the Jeep Wrangler’s roof.
What sets it apart from standard rooftop tents is its unique pop-up slide design, similar to the Tonke camper for the Volkswagen ID. Buzz. The system first pops up, then slides to the side of the roof to create a larger sleeping space. The ARTT concept uses Dometic’s inflatable AIR Frame technology for easy and quick setup. It also includes an integrated awning that swings out 270 degrees.

Inside, the tent offers enough space for a queen-size mattress. A standout feature is the ability to access the ARTT from within the Jeep Wrangler via the removed Freedom Panels. There is also a built-in carbon-fiber step over the center console to climb up into the tent easily.
This roof-integrated carbon fiber shell tent offers a sleek solution to the weight and aerodynamic challenges of traditional rooftop tents. The JPP Awning and Rooftop Tent concept is featured on the Jeep Wrangler 4xe Sunchaser concept for the Overland Expo West showcase.
