Camping gear manufacturer anymaka made headlines in 2023 with the launch of its portable hammock stand, which boasted a three-second setup. The company launched the product on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter and was successful in raising over $1.8 million from more than 7,000 backers worldwide. Two years later, the company behind the portable hammock stand is back, with the anymaka Portable Swing Chair.
Currently, the subject of a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, the Portable Swing Chair takes the ‘camping in a hammock’ concept to a new high. The swing chair is a versatile, lightweight, and sturdy hammock that sets up in three seconds. “With its patent-pending Snap-Fold design, the stand unfolds and locks into place in a mere three seconds,” the company states.
Beyond easy setup, the biggest highlight of the Swing Chair is its portability. Designed for adventurers who don’t want to be weighed down, the chair packs into a backpack-style bag, making it easy to carry on hikes, camping trips, or even just to the park.
“Many of our users told us how much they loved the ease and stability, but also asked for something even more lightweight and adaptable. So we created the portable swing chair — it keeps everything people loved about our original design, but now in a more compact form that’s perfect for both indoor and outdoor relaxation,”anymaka CEO, Eric Lin informs. “We also upgraded our carrying solution: the newly designed backpack allows you to pack everything into one bag, which can be easily carried by hand or worn on your back, ready for any adventure,” he continues.
Strength-wise, the hammock, which weighs only 17.2 lbs, can hold up to 300lbs of weight. “Our swing chair has been tested and passed a standard weight test at 550 lbs,” claim the makers. “But we recommend keeping the weight below 300 lbs only,” a company representative adds.
This payload capacity is possible courtesy of the chair’s durable construction that features aluminum alloy with a rustproof finish and anti-slip materials, ensuring rock-solid stability on any terrain. Compatible with most gathered-end hammocks, the stand lets you switch between chair mode (for sitting upright or cross-legged) and lounge mode (for reclining or lying flat). “It even supports hammocks up to 12 feet long with an 8-level tension adjustment system for the perfect hang,” the company informs.
Akin to its predecessor, the chair is poised on four legs and features two curved upper frame arms. All-in-all, it’s a trimmed-down version of the original anymaka hammock stand. The included hammock is made from ultralight 40D diamond ripstop nylon, offering ample space for one or two people to stretch out or snuggle up. Not to mention, an adjustable canopy with a 180-degree rotatable design lets you customize your shade. And of course, it swings back and forth, hence the name.

Unlike the portable hammock stand, the swing chair isn’t just for hardcore campers. It’s perfect for anyone who loves unwinding outdoors. So, even if you are a beachgoer, a backyard lounger, or an RV enthusiast, the hammock chair can be on your checklist. The standalone chair can be availed at an early bird price of $159, while the chair full pack, comprising a chair Stand, hammock, cup holder, and canopy kit, starts at $269.
